What is AJ2010?

AJ2010 is short for 22nd Australian Jamboree.

A Jamboree is a unique and life changing experience for all Scouts who attend. A 10 day experience that attracts over 15,000 participants from across Australia and the world. An Australian Jamboree is only held every 3 years.

When and where is AJ2010?

Date: 4th January 2010 through to the 14th of January 2010.

Location: Cataract Scout Park, Appin, NSW.

Can I go to AJ2010?

To be eleigable to go to AJ2010 you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a registered member of the Scout Section.
  • Have been a registered member of the Scout Section for at least 12 months.*
  • Must not have reached the age of 15, as at 4th January 2010.
  • Have earned the Pioneer Level Award prior to 30th September, 2009.**
  • Have camped out side, while in the Scout Section, as a Scout, in a scouting environment, for a minimum of 10 nights - three of which must be consecutive.

* Note: If you have been in the scout section for less than 12 months, an assessment relating to Scouting skills and ability to cope with such a lenghty camp will be conducted by the Region Liaison Leader (RLL), who will submit a recommendation prior to the applicant being approved or rejected as a member of the NSW Contingent.

 

** Note: This is a Jamboree requirement. The Lucas Heights Scouts requirement is that you must complete the level that you are going for by 30th September 2009. e.g. If you already have your pioneer level award, you must complete your explorer level award. If you already have your explorer level award, you must complete your adventurer level award.

How much will it cost?

The cost has been officially anounced. The cost will be $1020.00 (excluding transport fee).

  • Jamboree Cost: $840.00
  • NSW Contingent cost: $180.00
  • Transport: $??.?? (T.B.A.)
  • Total: $1020.00 (excluding transport fee)

This fee will be broken into 3 payments:

DEPOSIT $500.00 by 15/03/2009
2nd Payment $270.00 by 30/06/2009
3rd Payment $250.00 31/08/2009

  • Jamboree Cost: $500.00
  • NSW Contingent cost: $180.00
  • Transport: $??.?? (T.B.A.)
  • Total: $680.00 (excluding transport fee)

This fee will be broken into 2 payments:

DEPOSIT $500.00 by 15/03/2009
2nd Payment $180.00 by 30/06/2009
